Saudi Arabia’s tourism sector witnessed remarkable growth in 2023, with Saudi travelers showing strong interest in a variety of tourism offerings within the country, in line with Vision 2030, which aims to attract 150 million tourists annually by the beginning of the next decade, while ensuring that half of tourism demand comes from the local market. Almosafer revealed in its Domestic Travel Trends Report for 2023, which is based on data collected during 2023, that more than 40 percent of the total share of bookings comes from the domestic tourism sector, and that 83 percent of local travelers prefer luxury accommodation options, and with an average length of stay of two nights, the total number of hotel nights witnessed an annual growth of 22 percent in 2023 compared to 2022.
